Diego
Guevara
Global Design Director
NIKE
Beaverton, OR
Diego started his career at Nike Global Headquarters in 2016 and has been leading Performance product creation as a Global Design Director since. His current work as Director of Advanced Concepts focuses on creating the future of Nike and Sport by working with athletes and cross-functional teams on product creation, creative strategy, and brand vision. In addition to his role as Design Director, Diego serves as Co-Chair of Nike Latino & Friends Network, leading the 2,500+ member employee group representing Nike’s LatinX community and working directly with Nike executive leadership on strategic initiatives aligned with Nike’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion efforts.
Because of his love for Design and his commitment to elevating DE&I in corporate America, Diego co-launched LatinX Design Crew, a creative community focusing on the development, celebration, and promotion of LatinX talent at Nike. Through this independent Network, Diego has been able to help his community and launch career development mentorship programs for Minority Designers. In 2023, he expanded these programs outside of Nike’s HQ by partnering with non-profit organizations and launching Design programs for BIPOC high school students.
In addition to leading creative teams, Latino & Friends Network, and LatinX Design Crew, Diego is also part of Nike’s DE&I and Purpose Council teams focusing on leadership development and representation through initiatives, programming, and product collections that celebrate Latin Heritage. In 2022, Diego was appointed as Board Member of IMPACT Immigration, a non-profit that provides pro bono high psychological evaluations to immigrants and refugees regardless of ethnicity, language, or background.
Diego was born in Ecuador and moved to Miami with his family at age 16. After realizing Architecture was not his calling, Diego decided to switch majors, focusing on Branding and Design. Since then, Diego worked in a variety of fields including Entertainment, Digital, Advertising, Medical, Fashion, and Luxury products before moving to Portland, OR with his family to join Nike.
Before joining Nike, Diego worked as a Creative Director for agencies and clients including Sony, Johnson&Johnson, AT&T, Warner Music, Hilton and Marriott Hotels. Between 2011-2016 Diego served as Design professor at Miami Ad School, founded non-profit organizations focusing on Education and Arts, and worked as an independent Design Director for clients like NFL, Univision, Latin Grammys, CBS Sports Network, MTV, EL Rey Network, Anheuser-Busch and Carmelo Anthony.
