Jennifer Kinon and Bobby C. Martin Jr. are the founding partners of OCD | The Original Champions of Design. Together they develop brand identity systems for a broad range of clients that include the Friends of the High Line, Girl Scouts of the USA, the National Basketball Association and The New York Times.
Their work has won awards from AIGA, the Art Directors Club, D&AD, Type Directors Club and Print, as well as Best of Show and Judge's Pick in the 2011 Brand New Awards. They lecture frequently, most recently taking the main stage at the AIGA National Design Conference in Minneapolis.
Prior to founding OCD, Kinon served as the president of AIGA/NY and worked in the New York office of Pentagram with Michael Bierut. She also served as design director of New York City's 2012 Olympic Bid and worked as art director for Graphis Inc. Jennifer Kinon graduated from the University of Michigan and earned an MFA from the School of Visual Arts. Kinon is the first program graduate to join the faculty.
Martin led internal design teams at Nokia in London and Jazz at Lincoln Center. He has also served on the board of directors of AIGA/NY. He teaches identity design at The Cooper Union and is faculty at his alma mater, the School of Visual Arts, MFA Design Program. Martin graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University.
TALK TOPIC
A 50/50 presentation with one half focusing on the craftsmanship of logo design and the other half focusing on the functionality of identity systems.
