Jim Coudal is the founder and president of Coudal Partners in Chicago. The firm is a design and advertising consultancy without clients. Currently the firm operates and manages Field Notes Brand, a joint venture with the Draplin Design Company of Portland Oregon. Field Notes creates, produces, markets and distributes consumer products. Coudal also owns and operates The Deck Network, an online ad network targeting design, web and creative professionals, as well as various other projects and initiatives to varying degrees of success and sanity. Proudly without business plan for the last 15 years, Coudal Partners has been accused of merely "following their whims to their logical or illogical conclusions" and they're pretty much all right with that.
