Joerg Metzner is a designer and photographer, who came to Chicago from Germany via Ireland and Los Angeles. As design director at Rand McNally he guides branding and tackles design challenges ranging from product development, publication design, packaging, POP, video production, sales, marketing and trade show collateral, corporate branding, user interface design, social media to designs for screens large and small. The work produced by the team at Rand McNally frequently wins design awards.

Joerg has worked at a number of creative firms including his own where he developed design solutions for a wide range of clients that include multi national corporations, media companies, small retail enterprises and a ranch in Kansas. Joerg served as a board member of the Chicago Chapter of the American Institute of Arts and as vice president of the Society of Typographic Arts Chicago.

He is a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and attended Santa Monica College of Design, Art and Architecture. Joerg is also a trained dental technician and an experienced goat herder who counts making dentures and crowns and guarding livestock among his varied talents.
