BRIEF

A casu­al and cre­ative wed­ding invi­ta­tion card.

APPROACH

A wed­ding invi­ta­tion card, which reflects the spir­it of the event. Both cer­e­mo­ny and recep­tion took place on a Sun­day at the beach. Since the wed­ding was uncon­ven­tion­al we need­ed to find a sim­ple and straight­for­ward way to explain to the guests the loca­tion, time and date, weath­er, and dress code. Guests receive a fold­ed card, an origa­mi let­ter. To read all the infor­ma­tion the card con­tains, guests have to grad­u­al­ly open the card. We added a time­line, at the bot­tom of the card, to explain to the guests how the day will unfold. We used ver­nac­u­lar Ara­bic to empha­size some more that the wed­ding is a casu­al one. We adapt­ed the design of the card to a web­site, ramywchantal.com, where peo­ple can check the exact loca­tion, con­firm their atten­dance, and sub­mit their shoe sizes (for the flip-flop gift).
