CLIENT

Book­world was cre­at­ed by Pear­son Aus­tralia (own­ers of the Pen­guin Group). Book­world took over the dig­i­tal assets of borders.com.au, one of Aus­trali­a’s largest online bookstores. 


BRIEF

Build a com­pelling brand with a logo that engaged cur­rent and future cus­tomers with the idea that Book­world is the place, “Where books come from”. The logo need­ed to be as impact­ful as pos­si­ble, as Book­world is one of the largest online stores to launch in Aus­tralia in quite a while.


APPROACH

The new logo­type fea­tures a sim­ple and bold “B” that is rem­i­nis­cent of a book with the sub­tle “W” designed to look like a book­mark. The logo is also designed to open up in animation—much like a book—revealing the mag­i­cal world within. 

The launch is really exciting as we’re one of the biggest online stores to launch in Australia for some time. We believe Interbrand’s innovative Citizen offer and strong advertising campaign will entice people to shop at Bookworld for Christmas and beyond. — James Webber, CEO of Bookworld
