CLIENT

Book­world was cre­ated by Pear­son Aus­tralia (own­ers of the Pen­guin Group). Book­world took over the dig­i­tal assets of borders.com.au, one of Australia’s largest online bookstores.


BRIEF

Build a com­pelling brand with a logo that engaged cur­rent and future cus­tomers with the idea that Book­world is the place, “Where books come from”. The logo needed to be as impact­ful as pos­si­ble, as Book­world is one of the largest online stores to launch in Aus­tralia in quite a while.


APPROACH

The new logo­type fea­tures a sim­ple and bold “B” that is rem­i­nis­cent of a book with the sub­tle “W” designed to look like a book­mark. The logo is also designed to open up in animation—much like a book—revealing the mag­i­cal world within.

The launch is really excit­ing as we’re one of the biggest online stores to launch in Aus­tralia for some time. We believe Interbrand’s inno­v­a­tive Cit­i­zen offer and strong adver­tis­ing cam­paign will entice peo­ple to shop at Book­world for Christ­mas and beyond. — James Web­ber, CEO of Bookworld
