BRIEF

I want­ed to cre­ate an art print giv­ing nod upon nod to J.J. Abrams’ Lost.

APPROACH

My aim was to cre­ate some­thing that cap­tured the spir­it of the show as a whole, with­out focus­ing too nar­row­ly on any par­tic­u­lar char­ac­ter or sea­son. The com­mon denom­i­na­tor across the series—and the real hero of the story—is the island itself, so I designed the piece as a recruit­ment adver­tise­ment for Dhar­ma, encour­ag­ing would-be adven­tur­ers to join them in this strange, mys­te­ri­ous place. Ref­er­ences to espe­cial­ly mem­o­rable episodes and icon­ic land­marks are scat­tered through­out the illustration.
