Matt Stevens is a designer and illustrator currently living and working in North Carolina. He has spent the majority of his career in small to mid sized brand shops and agencies as a designer and Creative Director. In early 2012 he opened the Design Office of Matt Stevens to pursue his own clients and incorporate more illustration into his daily practice. He currently works on a mix of brand identity and design heavy illustration projects.
He is a strong advocate for self initiated work and his pursuit of personal projects has led to opportunities to work with many great brands. The MAX100 project, was an exploration of form and concept using his lifelong sneaker fascination as its subject. This project began as a daily web series and became a self published book that was featured and sold from Dusseldorf Germany to Dubai UAE and led to an ongoing collaboration with Nike Global / Nike Sportswear. His self initiated Dunkin Donuts rebrand became a collaboration with Brand New for their April Fool’s post and has led to work for Dunkin Donuts as well as a comprehensive brand project for JJ’s Red Hots in his hometown of Charlotte, NC.
Selected clients include; Nike, Evernote, Facebook, JJ’s Red Hots, New York Magazine, TBWA London, Leo Burnett, the Salvation Army, the WWE, Money Magazine, Sony Music and WIRED.
