Established in 1931 and based in Japan, Bridgestone manufactures tires for motorcycles, and passenger and commercial vehicles, among other tire and tube products. Earlier this month, Bridgestone announced a revision to its corporate philosophy as well as the Bridgestone Logo, Bridgestone Mark and B Mark. The press release explains: “This refinement is intended to reflect a sense of ‘coexistence with people around the world’, ‘flexible strength’ and ‘a sense of speedin adjusting to change’. This is an evolution from the previous logo which expresses ‘strength’ and ‘a sense of physical speed.’”

Established in 1880, Hatier is a publishing company specializing in school textbooks. They are part of publishing giant Hachette. The new logo, designed by Brandimage, “projects the brand into the future by reaffirming its values of accessibility, dynamism and innovation.”

Owner of local-scene sites like Citysearch, Insider Pages, and Urbanspoon, CityGrid Media is “an online media company that connects web and mobile publishers with local advertising organizations.” Its identity has been designed by La Visual. A photo of the stationery is available after the jump.
Established in 1976 as The Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art in Dover, New Jersey by renown comic book artist Joe Kubert, the institution has changed its name to The Kubert School and introduced a new identity. The website Comic Book Resources has an interview on the new branding with Kuber and his two sons, Adam and Andy, comic book artists themselves.

The Madison Mallards, based in Madison, Wisconsin, are members of the 16-team summer collegiate Northwoods League. In February they unveiled a new identity, designed by local firm Shine Advertising. A bigger view of the logo is available after the jump.

Founded in Cincinnati, OH in 1831, Xavier University is the sixth oldest Catholic university in the United States. They recently developed a graphic identity plan in order to “maintain brand identity and to provide consistency in the look and messaging of all University communications.”

In its four years in business Vancouver-based Saxx Underwear, a men’s underwear company, has gone from Grad School startup to gaining national exposure when it appeared on the CBC show, Dragons’ Den. The brand was sold in 2010 to NoLimits Sportswear where it has since undergone a complete rebranding. Here’s a look, done by local Vancouver firm Toolbox Design.
On Feb 24th, Intel Corporation announced the availability of Thunderbolt technology, a new high-speed PC connection technology that brings together high-speed data transfer and high-definition (HD) display into one cable. Through technical collaboration with Apple, Thunderbolt is available first on Apple’s new line of MacBook Pro laptop computers. Further information here.
