The Brand New Conference is a one-day event organized by UnderConsideration, focusing on the practice of corporate and brand identity — a direct extension of the popular blog, Brand New. The conference consists of eight sessions offering a broad range of points of view with speakers from around the world practicing in different environments, from global consultancies, to in-house groups, to small firms.
After a successful inaugural conference in New York City last year we wanted to take the show to the opposite side of the United States and San Francisco felt like the best hub for a West Coast gathering of brand and identity designers and aficionados. The venue for the conference will be the Marines Memorial Theater, which holds 426 attendees.
For those that can’t attend the conference, a live webcast will be available as well as pay-per-download videos after the event.
The Brand New Conference is put together and hosted by UnderConsideration co-founders Bryony Gomez-Palacio and Armin Vit.

About the Conference Identity
Looking for something fun and lively we decided to use a rather primitive way of branding as seen on the windows of small grocery stores, restaurants, or service businesses that bluntly state “This is what you can get here” and “This is how much it costs”. “Come in if you want it”. Bold and energetic. We wanted some of that.
All of the brush lettering comes from the hand of Batavia, New York-based John Hodgins who diligently took all of our strange requests and created 25-by-38-inch banners that we then sliced, scanned, and pieced back together. We paired the brush signs with Mark Simonson’s Proxima Nova Alt as the main identity typeface and then splatted it big and juicy on the internet.
