Established in 1920 in the UK, where their first vehicles were “milk floats” deployed by dairies for deliveries in London, Smith Electric Vehicles is one of the leading manufacturers and marketers of zero-emission commercial electric vehicles, specializing in trucks for corporate fleets to companies like PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay division, Coca-Cola, and Staples. Smith was launched in the US in 2008 and in 2011 the American corporation purchased the UK parent company and in order to establish a consistent global brand, Smith introduced a new identity in November, designed by San Francisco, CA-based Strohl.
Established in 2006, Coyote Logistics is a third party logistics and transportation, meaning that they accommodate shipments with a variety of carriers, finding trucks that have available space in trips they are already making. According to Inc. magazine, which listed Coyote as the No. 1 company in Logistics and Transportation, it has had a 13,846.8% three-year growth. Coyote counts with over 300 employees and an aggressive (in a friendly way) attitude. This past Fall they introduced a new identity designed by Moving Brands.
Uber is a high-endish cab service that offers smartphone ordering. It provides service in San Francisco, Seattle, New York, Chicago, Boston, Washington DC, and Paris (the one in France). A new logo was unveiled (literally!) on Monday. News here.

Established in 1997 in Vancouver as The Car Co-op & The Company Car, this not-for-profit, car sharing co-operative counts with 7,000 members and over 200 locations to pick up from a selection of 230 vehicles in bubbly, colorful variations from hatchbacks to hybrids to minivans. This past March, the coop changed its name to Modo and introduced a new identity designed by Vancouver-based Cause+Affect.
Launched in 1994 Eurostar was, until recently a tri-nation collaboration between Britain, Belgium and France, aimed at moving people quickly on trains, often at speeds up to 300 kilometers per hour, and in a tunnel 120 meters under the surface of the freezing cold English channel. Yep, we’re using metrics for this review people. With a re-structuring of corporate management, and consolidation to one entity based in London, Eurostar sought to rebrand and engaged the services of SomeOne. The TUL, Transport Urbain Lavallois, is a network of buses based in the Laval community in France. The network consists of 54 buses that travel 21,000,000 kilometers, (that’s 13,048,795 miles for you metric-phobes) every year, and in the process transports an average of 7 million passengers. Their new colorful identity designed by Royalties Agency launched earlier this year.
Founded in 1997 in Seattle, WA, Jetstream Freight Forwarding specializes in transportation of perishable goods.

Established in 1972 the Metro Area Transit, or MAT as more colloquially known, is the local bus system for the city of Omaha, operated by the Omaha Transit Authority, a governmental subdivision of the State of Nebraska. With a look that looked as if it hadn’t been updated since 1972, MAT underwent not just a redesign but a renaming too, as Metro, with the help of local firm Oxide Design.
QR National is a soon to be listed public company that owns and operates Australia’s largest rail freight network. In a country that is the world’s largest exporter of coal, it’s not surprising that QR National is also the world’s largest transporter of the dirty rocks. In a big brown land, with big brown trains, from the state of the big pineapple, big mango, big bottle of rum and the big boofhead, a big new company is about to be created — with a smart new identity courtesy of Cornwall Design, Melbourne.
