Launched in 2007 as Read it Later, the newly named Pocket allows users (over 4.5 million of them) to save articles, videos or web pages to the app that can be viewed later on any device (phone, tablet or computer). Introduction to the new name and features here.

With roots as far back as 1962, EDB and ErgoGroup combined in 2010 to form “the largest merger ever seen in the Nordic IT industry, and the fourth largest corporate merger in Norway regardless of industry.” In March the company announced a name change to EVRY, a leading IT company in the Nordic countries with 10,000 employees and 14,000 public sector and private sector customers. The new identity has been designed by Oslo, Norway-based Scandinavian Design Group.

Established in 1993, Extensis is a developer of software and services for creative professionals and workgroups. Best known for their font management application Suitcase, Extensis also offers a web font delivery platform (WebINK) and develops a digital asset management tool. In March, Extensis began rolling out a new identity internally designed in collaboration by Portland, OR-based Owen Jones & Partners and Hood River, OR-based Blue Collar. Additional typographic help came from Extensis’ own Thomas Phinney, Senior Product Manager, Fonts & Typography.
Launched late last year, Boundary “enables operations teams to measure and analyze network traffic in any cloud infrastructure” with what looks like some groovy charts and stuff. The logo was designed in-house by Stephen Boak who shares his process here.
Founded in 1987 and purchased by Electronic Arts in 1997, Maxis is a video game developer best known for creating SimCity, The Sims, and Spore. With the recent launch of the latest SimCity a revised logo for Maxis was introduced. Bigger view of the logo, and its killer bevels, below (or after the jump).

Established in 2009, GoPago is a merchant service that allows businesses and customers to complete purchases using their smartphone only, no credit cards needed. GoPago has made news for getting JPMorgan Chase to fund it handsomely. A new logo and name change from Pago to GoPago was introduced in February.

Established in 2001 in Edinburgh, Scotland and now with offices in Singapore, Skyscanner is an online travel search site that finds the best deals and connects users directly to the airline, hotel, car rental service, or travel agent, so it doesn’t take commissions from the user. Skyscanner is available in over 25 different languages and has been lauded as one of the best travel search sites by media publications across Europe. Last week, Skyscanner introduced a new identity designed by Glasgow, Scotland-based Stand.
