Update: Looks like there aren’t enough interested students, so the invitation is open to all (students and professionals), with the same premise of contributing about your experience.
This coming February 21, the San Francisco chapter of AIGA and the AIGA Center for Sustainable Design (CFSD) will present Compostmodern 09, a one-day conference focusing on sustainability and social and ecologically conscious design. Previous iterations have been successful and very well received, and the line-up of speakers for this one indicates this one will be no different. We are excited to be able to offer five complimentary registrations. Read on for rules and regulations.
1. You must be a student. Not to discriminate against professionals, but we do want to foster attending these events from early on. The invitation is open to students and professionals.
2. First come, first serve. Just say “me” in the comments.
3. There is a catch: If you choose to say “me,” first, you must attend and, second, you must write about your experience at the conference for Speak Up.
3.1. We are not asking for an essay, dissertation, or full-blown report, just an honest reaction to the event. It can be writing, it can be photographs, it can be a video, however you wish to capture it is cool for us. The content could potentially appear in the Compostmodern web site as well. If you have any questions or ideas about what you might contribute let us know.
4. Please provide a real e-mail in your comment so that we can contact you. We are only providing tickets; accommodations and expenses are up to you.
I'm a graduate student at CCA in San Francisco. I also went last year and it was fascinating. Thanks!
