Sheepie Auction No. 1

Auction has ended.

The first of our ten commemorative Sheepies is now open for bidding. Being that this is a — probably the first— blog auction some of the rules of conventional bidding will be ignored and new ones will be made.

Rules and Regulations

— Bidding starts Monday, August 2nd and ends Monday, August 9th at 12:00 PM (Noon) Central Standard Time.

— If it comes down to the last second, the first comment with 12:00 PM will be the winner.

— Bidding will be done using the regular Speak Up commenting method. Please state the specific amount you want to bid using dollars and cents, as such: 9.99. No need to add the dollar sign.

— If there is overlap — meaning two people posting at the same time — the highest bid is the one that will be considered.

— If you wish to taunt while you bid, please specify your amount in the very first line so that it is clear that you are bidding, insert two breaks between bid and taunt or snarky commentary.

— If for any reason you wish to make an anonymous bid, you may do so. When you enter your bid, you can put “Anonymous” under name, then enter your real e-mail address and enter http://xxx for URL, that way your e-mail will not show up as the URL overrides that information. In your e-mail please state your name so that I can know who you are. For example:

Name: Anonymous

E-mail: armin@underconsideration.com_Armin Vit

URL: http://xxx

— Winner gets one of ten signed Sheepies. Shipping costs will be taken care of by Speak Up. Payment has to be made before shipping of Sheepies. Payments can be made via check or money order. We will ship international.

— I think that’s it, happy biddings!

Armin’s comment is:

All bids are (and should be) taken seriously. When people post anonymously, I can see who the person is, so if I sense somebody's bluffing with a bogus e-amil I'll be sure to point it out here.

With that said, current bid is $21.00 by Rob.

Dang it! Dang it! Dang it! I wasn't paying attnetion to the time as I was trying to figure out how much I could spend before my wife would hurt me.

Armin, when's the next one?

Armin’s comment is:

Michael, we might do another one next week.

Rob’s comment is:

Way cool. I was worried someone would outbid me while I was enjoying a beautifully sunny day at the pool with the kids. But now I'll have something to pass on to them—besides the constant nuggets of parental wisdom I share—and who knows, maybe someday it will be a museum piece.

(and by the way, my wife know's nothing about this little bidding war that i've won)

1,000,000*!

Ha ha!

What, the auction's over**? Oh. I guess I'll spend my million on something else.

*Does not constitute an actual bid.

**Does not constitute actual surprise.
