Triboro Design, the Brooklyn-based studio which had previously created a one-color version of Massimo Vignelli’s NYC Subway map, has now issued “Wrong Color”posters of the same map, using “only the most inappropriate colors” — which turn out to be combinations of CMY (cyan, magenta, and yellow) and RGBK (red, green, blue, and black).

New reissue from designers Jesse Reed and Hamish Smyth, a.k.a. Standards Manual: a facsimile of the standards manual for the symbol of the U.S.A.’s Bicentennial, designed by Bruce Blackburn in 1974. (While you’re at it, check out their website, which also offers their earlier editions: facsimiles of the 1975 NASA Graphics Standards Manual and the 1970 New York City Transit Authority’s Graphics Standards Manual.)
