To celebrate the release today of Diablo III, a “dark fantasy/horror-themed action role-playing game,” Alex Griendling has created five banners, one for each of the game’s heroes. I have know what I just wrote and skulls and blades ain’t my thing, but these are really nicely done.

AMC TV’s ‘The Pitch’ take a detailed look into the creative and business development processes of ad agencies as they try to win new accounts, but is the show just a high-production value spec contest? It’s hard to argue otherwise when the show itself describes next Wednesday’s episode as, “The Ad Store and Kovel/Fuller Agency compete for the Frangelico liqueur brand in hopes of generating big business.”

The words ‘compete’ and ‘hopes’ always raise a red flag with me. Is the TV exposure here enough PR to justify this type of competition to win business, or do these contests—televised or not— devalue our industry as a whole.

Comments are open, what do you think?
