Robert Palladino has passed away. Palladino taught calligraphy at Reed College in Portland, Oregon, from 1969 to 1984. One of his many students was a young Steve Jobs, who later credited this one course with helping the Macintosh to be “the first computer with beautiful typography.”

Craig Welsh is working on a revival of a font design by Alvin Lustig originally designed in the 1930s. Elaine Lustig Cohen is on board, helping bring this unique font to life via a wood font crafted by Hamilton Wood Type and a digital version by P22. Currently on Kickstarter.
