“What sort of man reads Playboy?” was a recurring ad that ran on every issue in the late 1950s, 60s, and 70s. The link picks various of them to look at the changing fashions but consistent desire of the ladies in the background for the man in the forefront. Happy to report that the link is SFW.

This is freaking fantastic: “Science Kombat”, an actual online video game being developed by Super Interessante, pitting the greatest scientists against each other, Mortal Kombat-style. Pixel animations by Diego Sanches. Be sure to check the link to see all the scientists and the special moves, like “Gravity” from Isaac Newton.

“When we decorate the truck it should look like a beautiful bride.” The Horn Please documentary — on India’s truck art — which we’ve covered in the past can now be watched online. It’s fantastic.

The Moscow Design Museum depends on a single dedicated archivist, Valentia Mokrousova, — a worrying situation for Sankova as there’s so much more work to be done to record the changing face of Russian design for future generations.
