Julian Koenig, copywriter extraordinaire, has passed away. Koenig worked with Helmut Krone on DDB’s famous VW ads of the late 1950s and early 1960s (“Think Small” and “Lemon” are two well-known examples from this campaign), and also, in 1970, came up with the name “Earth Day.”
