Julian Glomb

Creative Director, Experience Master Plan

Chicago, IL

Julian Glomb is Creative Director of Shedd Aquarium’s experience master plan, where for twenty years, he has co-led the design team that helps support Shedd's mission to spark compassion, curiosity, and conservation for the aquatic animal world. He and his team are helping to shape and craft the aquarium experience for present and future guests, as Shedd Aquarium approaches its hundredth anniversary. Julian encourages his design team to build collaborative relationships with all aquarium staff — animal care, conservation research, learning, marketing — to enable the team to see their impact as they invite nearly two million guests to the aquarium each year.

Prior to joining Shedd Aquarium, Julian started his career developing brands for the financial services, higher education, pharmaceutical, and airline industries. His environmental experience work has been recognized by the American Alliance of Museums, Association of Zoos & Aquariums, and Graphic Design USA. When not at the aquarium, you can find Julian out biking Chicago’s lakefront, bird watching, or geeking out over mid-century design and architecture. He also enjoys collaborating with his life-long friends and fellow designers on meaningful, personal works.
