In-house team Est. 2020
Creative/Design Team
The Creative/Design team (really just a team of one currently!) operates within the Marketing team, bringing together creative concepts, design and production to build integrated campaigns. Our small but scrappy Marketing team oversees everything from new product innovation, social media, marketing campaigns, events & trade shows, the website, and more. Beyond supporting the Marketing team, Creative/Design also works closely with the Sales and Operations teams to bring the products into the real world for our retailers and ultimately consumers.

On working in-house…
Benefits
As an in-house creative, having a deep understanding of the product, its history and the heart of the brand makes it easier to build authentic connections with our audience. We’re not some artificial-ingredient, sugar-water popsicles—we’re looking for the same GOOD our consumers are looking for because we’re sharing them with our own families. Being in-house also gives me a level of creative freedom and independence you don’t often find in an agency setting. On our plucky Marketing team, we often wear multiple hats—we are the art director, photographer, copywriter, food stylist, producer, video editor, etc. It can be taxing, but it also means there’s always an opportunity to learn something new and expand how we bring ideas to life.
Challenges
Small budgets—While small budgets naturally come with constraints, they push us to be resourceful and find creative solutions. Sometimes our thriftiness leads to something better than the original idea, but sometimes we do miss out making something really cool. Prioritization & timelines—As the sole person in a creative/design role, I’m generally spread very thin. Hot requests come in daily (if not hourly), so I often have to prioritize which team will get their ASAP request first. Luckily the timelines can be flexible, cause at the end of the day it’s just popsicles!
On working with…
Others
We bring in freelancers and agencies for the right opportunity—and when our budget and timeline allows for it. Depending on the campaign, we’ll tap outside resources from individuals like motion designers and 3D artists to full studio and production houses.
Guidelines
From influencers making sure the popsicles look mouthwateringly delicious, to brand partners getting our logo just right, to internal team members building presentations with the right web-safe fonts and colors, GoodPop’s brand guidelines serve as a valuable resource for all internal and external stakeholders.Personally, I treat our guidelines as exactly that—a guide, not a strict rule. Guidelines create consistency and a recognizable foundation, while still leaving room to experiment, evolve and flex the brand in ways that feel fun and fresh.
