CLIENT

Pan­elVi­sion is a start-up inde­pen­dent comics pub­lish­er ded­i­cat­ed to high-end pub­lish­ing using region­al paper and print­ers. Pan­elVi­sion was estab­lished through the Kick­starter grant that made The Out­liers com­ic possible.

BRIEF

I crowd-fund­ed The Out­liers, and made a com­mit­ment to fin­ish the full com­ic book, print it beau­ti­ful­ly, and use qual­i­ty Amer­i­can papers. I also com­mit­ted to includ­ing char­ac­ter con­cepts sug­gest­ed by my back­ers, which became the detailed draw­ings on the cov­er and inside cover.

APPROACH

I want­ed to com­bine my design expe­ri­ence and love of papers and print­ing with the desire to pro­duce an adven­ture com­ic book that I might enjoy with my son. I chose to finance through Kick­starter so I could have com­plete con­trol of pro­duc­tion details and exper­i­ment with form.
