CLEVER°FRANKE is a design stu­dio that spe­cial­izes in iden­ti­ty design, inter­ac­tive design, and data visualization.

APPROACH

Every year CLEVER°FRANKE designs a weath­er chart with an overview of the weath­er of the pre­vi­ous year. C° has a spe­cial affin­i­ty with the weath­er. The names of the founders Thomas CLEVER and Gert FRANKE have been com­bined with the aid of the degree sym­bol, since the ori­gin of the design stu­dio, a ref­er­ence to the astronomer Anders Cel­sius (C°) and physi­cist Daniel Fahren­heit (F°). This degree sym­bol served as the basis for the design of the visu­al iden­ti­ty: two researchers with­in the same field, found dif­fer­ent approach­es and ref­er­ences. Some­thing def­i­nite­ly rec­og­niz­able in the per­son­al­i­ties of the founders of CLEVER°FRANKE.

The level of detail in the data visualization makes it complicated to print in the colors that were selected, metallics and fluorescents. The printer did a great job on getting everything the way it was intended.
