Muhs Home is a home fur­nish­ings bou­tique in San Fran­cis­co, CA.

APPROACH

Shar­ing the same sen­si­bil­i­ty as the prod­ucts it car­ries, the brand embod­ies a sub­tle and under­stat­ed ele­gance that is nat­u­ral­ly time­less. Beau­ti­ful in its sim­plic­i­ty, a sophis­ti­cat­ed palette of mut­ed tones cou­pled with hand drawn illus­tra­tions and clas­sic typog­ra­phy set a foun­da­tion that is clean and unas­sum­ing. In keep­ing with the fig­u­ra­tive mean­ing and pho­net­ic sym­bol­ism behind the name, the “u” ref­er­ences indi­vid­u­al­i­ty and one’s per­son­al expres­sion of inspired liv­ing. The “muhs” half of Muhs Home is a vari­a­tion on the clien­t’s last name “Shum.” Meant to be pro­nounced like “muse”, it was inte­gral for the design to clear­ly com­mu­ni­cate the name.
