12 — Thibault Magni Micro-edition Self-promotion
Small, colorful (seven fluorescent colors!), fun, and self-made… perfect ingredients for a memorable zine.
11 — Phoenix Design Week Event Program
It’s hard to tell what kind of alien language this has going on in the cover, but with embossing and stitch-sewing like that, I’ll gladly welcome our alien overlords.
10 — The Golden Camera 2015 Invitation
A beautiful and tightly-registered combination of embossing and foil stamping in contrasting typography.
9 — Singapore’s Visual Artists Book
The utilitarian nature of the ring binder and the lo-fi plastic cover make this dense publication memorable and interesting.
DIY to the max! This group of friends give their home-brewed a top-notch presentation themselves.
Silkscreen is well known to print on difficult surfaces but chocolate “ink” on crepes? Now that’s heavy duty.
Still maintaining a certain corporate-brochure-ness, this book makes great use of a limited color palette and some groovy ripples of overlapping inks. The board covers always make a sturdy statement.

At 18 × 24 inches, this is a big one to foil stamp, especially with so much detail and ornamentation but they nailed it.
4 — Jullien Brothers Business Cards
Jean Jullien’s affable illustration style translates perfectly to a clever hand-shake die-cut for he and his brother’s business cards.
3 — “Kontroll” Book
The red ink on the green cloth for the cover is a wonderful combination and the bold and energetic typography doesn’t let up in the body.
2 — Book of Palms, Volume 01: California
There is a stunning elegance to this, with a dash of freshness with the pink cloth and eclectic, West Coast, 1980s-tastic color palette of the inside with beautifully reproduced photos of California palms.
Printing white ink on black paper was such a brilliant move to reproduce Andrew Curtis’s photos of piles of dirt photographed at night. The minimal typography, the pacing, and the scale of the photographs all play perfectly together.
