Five different Canadian illustrators came together to create this set of hand-cranked letterpress prints. Hot-stamped with silver foil and packaged with care, this collection named “Collections” makes even the coldest of Canada look warm and inviting.

Project Description
The Canadianist is a new series of fine letterpress prints by some of our favourite illustrators north of the forty-ninth parallel. In our pilot issue, Collections, each of our 5 contributors illustrates a collection based on a different theme. The result: a set of five original and charming illustrated prints that are just begging to be framed and hung on your cold Canadian walls. Each gorgeous 8 × 10 inch print is hand-letterpressed into thick cover stock in two inks, with embellishments in hot-stamped silver foil. The set was lovingly produced and printed by Everlovin' Press in Kingston, Ontario.Production Lesson(s)
This is our second collaborative Canadian-themed print series. We did another Canadian themed project, Greetings From Canada, last year, with 10 illustrators/prints in the set. While it turned out beautifully (thanks to our illustrators) and was largely a commercial success, we did learn a few things from it that we were able to apply this year, which we hope will contribute to an even greater commercial success. We really focused the end product to be more salable by more clearly identifying the purpose of the product, cutting the number of prints down from 10 to 5, and enlarging the print size to be more visually impressive. We feel that these evolutions in our process made the production process more manageable, and it was clearly more helpful for our artists in terms of knowing how to respond to our brief. The project has just launched, but we are confident that a project that has a clearer purpose and identity, and which favours universality over obscurity in content, will enjoy an increased positive response from our retailers and customers.
