Project Description
This art print is a representative portrait of the 4th chakra (heart), or anahata. I drew inspiration from visual and cultural research about the symbolism behind the chakra, as well as my own personal yoga practice and artistic liberties. Anahata is a sanskrit word that translates into "unstruck, unhurt, unbeaten," which informed the intensity and orientation of the subject and the ornamentation framing it.Production Lesson(s)
The registration of hand-drawn films can be tricky without registration marks, which tend to fall by the wayside as I'm drawing. Without them, I had to spend a lot of extra time on registration.
