The client requested that the design contains: Paper plane, which is their love symbol; Red & Blue, their favourite colour; Some degree of complexity and patterns to represent merriness and happiness. We used curly lines to represent the flow of the planes which are also used to embellish the whole look of the invitation. The consistency of the line thickness was used to maintain the modern look while also using it to fill up space to achieve a certain degree of complexity.

Production Lesson(s)

100% cotton paper is a hard material to get here in Indonesia, and if we do get our hands on one, it would be over the average market's budget. So we had to experiment on different kinds of paper and try to find one which is soft enough and able to endure the pressure and maintain the deboss effect from letterpress.
