Project Description

We wanted to take "tying the knot" to a literal stage for the invite so we designed the cards to tie an actual knot when opened. When guests received the invite the string was loose and would slowly tie when opened fully. We die-cut a circle in the middle so there was clear focus on the knot.

Production Lesson(s)

Since the final piece is made up of two pieces of card thinly glued together at the seams the biggest thing I learned is that it's very difficult to print 3 colours, double sided and have everything line up. The job was printed on a single colour press so each side essentially had to get put through 6 times. If I was to do this type of job again I would look at other ways of printing as it's quite complex and difficult to pull off. Hats off to the printers though, they did a fantastic job and we were very happy with the final piece. ”
