Project Description

This is a visual guide to foraging on the streets and in the backyards of South Florida. Miami has been luring idealistic entrepreneurs to its warm coastline ever since Flagler extended the railroads with the promise of riches made by growing exotic tropical fruits. Many counties that are now residential were once filled with coconut palms, citrus, and mango groves, and historic trees remain in front lawns and on medians all over town, heavy with fruit ripe for your picking. With the right eye and a telescoping pole, mamey, ackee, and starfruit are all within reach. Forager'™s goal is to encourage Miamians to look both up into the trees and down on the ground for edible fruits and weeds, and take advantage of the unique bounty of our subtropics. Full color guide with plant index, illustrations, and historical notes, published by Jai-alai Books

Production Lesson(s)

Printing locally was awesome. Being able to proof and make changes at the press was really convenient. ”
