Project Description

Why a poster instead of a keynote? An introduction presentation often is a monologue. Not a good way to get to know each other. That's why we choose to make a poster. Not forced by the order of a keynote, the poster facilitates a real conversation.

We wanted to add an interactive layer to a static document. By adding elements that are manually added to the poster we created a living document. On the website we have a poll which name should come first. Valkenberg & Janssen or Janssen & Valkenberg? The current result of the poll is added on the poster and invites the viewer to go to the website and vote.

The poster includes a mix of the things we believe in, our work approach, our timeline, brands we worked for, a recipe of our personal project, a business card you can cut out for the rolodex and of course, cases. To emphasise the concept of which name should be first we created a business card which you can turn around. It is silkscreened of different kinds of plywood.

Production Lesson(s)

The main lesson we learned is that almost all people are enthusiastic about something not digital. Not only co-designers, but also the slick advertising person and the old fashioned client. Everyone appreciates the form, a silkscreened poster, the content and the effort that was put into it. Especially the way of presenting in a non linear way helps to have a real conversation. Most of the meetings end up in, 'can you make a poster like this for me?'”
