Each year Moonlight Creative Group takes on the endeavor of designing a gift as a small thank you for our clients. Gearing up for the holiday season, the year had a different feel with one of the co-founders of the company retiring and new designers added to the team dynamic. With all these changes this year's gift was meant to be a true creative collaboration, giving us the opportunity to spend time with each other outside of the office while still creating something beautiful for our clients. Using locally sourced ingredients, the team cooked up crock-pots full of apple butter, individually bagged mulling spices and screenprinted produce tote bags. As a design company, we knew that the gift wouldn't be complete without hand-crafted packaging. In the end, what started as a simple idea quickly become more than crafting a beautiful holiday gift, ultimately allowing us to craft a beautifully cohesive team.Production Lesson(s)
One of the largest production lessons learned/enforced during this project was the importance of creating mock-ups and working with the packaging designs in 3D, rather than simply as static images on our computer screens. Packaging design can be tricky but provides a fun opportunity to create with your hands and step away from the screen for a bit.
