Lead Image

Tommy Perez used classic holiday movie quotes as inspiration for last year’s holiday cards. Each card in the series of four features a movie quote set in Tommy’s festive hand-lettering. Can you name them all? Then, extra excitement comes into play with glow-in-the-dark ink on a limited number of cards and random distribution. The glow-in-the-dark treatment is also as a tie-in to the season’s decorative lights.

Project Description

Holly Day cards: Part Deux is the second installment of prints inspired by movie quotes from holiday classics. To make this year's cards extra festive, I added a glow-in-the-dark ink feature to a limited number of sets and sent them out at random.

Production Lesson(s)

While printing we found out that acrylic ink didn't mesh well with the coated stock of the shipping envelopes. We switched to plastisol ink, heated it up and that did the trick. It also gave it a raised stamp kind of feel, which was quite the tactile treat for the fingers.”
