There is a fairy tale, or children’s book quality to these wedding invitations. The accordion folded request for attendance lays out the couple’s story through dreamy watercolored illustrations with wedding details printed in the areas between significant events.

Project Description

Clients requested us to illustrate their story, from the day they first met in Bali to the day they got hitched in Singapore. They specifically requested the story to be told in a comically abstract way, yet retaining the formality of a wedding invitation. We came up with an accordion style invitation that features their watercolored paintings seamlessly from end to end, complete with raised-printed event details.

Production Lesson(s)

Due to very tight production time, we were not given ample time to experiment foil-stamping on papers that we are not familiar with. We encountered a serious problem 2 days prior to the delivery date, we found out that the black foil does not work on the highly textured Savannah paper, we had to solve the problem immediately, so we printed the black texts on the cover using offset machine and we added transparent foil on the printed area to simulate the black foil effect.”
