As we all know, chickenoceros awareness is a world-wide hot-button issue of our time. What few people know is that the screeching sound created when applying an exacto blade to negative film can be a near perfect match for the chickenoceros mating call. Cecilia Hedin simultaneously risked hearing damage and chickenoceros attraction by carefully etching this image of the rare beast. All in a days work for a worthy cause.

The slightly sad Chickenoceros is an extremely rare creature. To help the endangered species from becoming extinct, I wanted to spread its existence to the rest of the world with this postcard.Production Lesson(s)
Illustrating with an exacto knife on a negative film (in order to make a polymer plate) is totally different from drawing with pen on paper. It makes a screeching sound, and everything within a 3-feet radius gets covered in film dust.
