Project Description

A poster promoting the pop-up chapter of Creative Mornings, featuring a talk by Kelly Dobson, the head of RISD's graduate Digital + Media department. The poster was designed to be hung both in RISD as well as the larger Providence community. In order to fit in a variety of contexts the poster was designed to function at full press size and chopped down to quarter size. Three quarters of the run were left at full size and a quarter of the run were chopped down. The poster also functioned as a backdrop for the event.

Production Lesson(s)

I had never overprinted fluorescent inks before and didn't realize they were mostly opaque rather than the traditional transparent offset inks. The overprint was subtle and the ink stood off semi-gloss paper in a really pleasing way. A varnish may have helped the ink 'blend in' with the paper's finish but the contrast was rather nice.”
