Centreprint

You may read this provocative print production handbook for the articles, but it’s the titillating visuals that sell it. The only thing missing is a center-fold.

Project Description

Designers are becoming more removed from the printing process. The hope is that the Print Handbook (now in its 2nd edition) can change that. We want to help designers with some of the questions they have when setting up their files for print: questions about rich black, DPI, text sizes, overprinting and more. We've packed the handbook full of real examples, so that as a designer you don't have to blindly follow what you have been told but can make your own decision.

Production Lesson(s)

We learned a huge amount because of the nature of the project. Here are a few: in certain situations 200dpi images actually might be okay, JPGs, GIFs and PNGs do not support spot colors, and knocking out text with foil is much less clear than text that is foiled itself, especially at small sizes.”
