Promising an experience out of this world, these promotional materials — for “Halos & Heroes,” an annual children’s event run by a church as an alternative to Halloween celebrations — look like the party of the year. I want Andrea to design my costume!
The challenge for this project was to create eye-catching promotional material that could be printed in-house for relatively low cost. The posters were printed on metallic paper, giving a shimmering appearance without having to offset print with specialty inks. The digital laser print caused the sparkle of the paper to show through in areas with less ink coverage, such as the stars, light-coloured text and the rocket. Posters were put up around the community — indoors and outdoors — so their ability to catch the light really added to their effect. The tags were cut out manually using a Logan Foamwerks circle cutter.
