Because beers and babies go hand in hand, this birth announcement makes perfect sense to me (as a parent of two). And the name similarities don’t hurt the humorous relationship one bit.
I designed this birth announcement after the arrival of my first baby, Stella Bennett. We wanted to do something a little different than your average announcement, and the tongue-in-cheek combination of beer and baby shows our true personality. The Stella Artois label was a perfect fit, being somewhat feminine without being overly girlie or cutesy, as many baby girl items can be.
Perfect registration was essential in order for the final printed piece to be successful (especially since it was a 3 color job)—there wasn’t any room for error. However, that’s not a problem for a careful printer!
Having spent the last three – four years immersed in baby announcements, I love the fact that Stella’s is nicely printed, has great typography, does not show a picture of a baby cuddled in blankets and showcases the unique personality of the new parents.
