The 2010 World Cup feels like a distant memory. Except for the Spaniards. They are probably still partying. So why not relive the magic of the wondrous rounds of elimination leading up the 1-0 climax of the final with this graphically bold poster created by the soccer-obsessed team at Hyperakt.
Hyperakt created this radial bracket documenting the results of the 2010 World Cup. We thought soccer-obsessed designers like us might like to have a copy of it in the form of a beautifully printed poster. The poster was printed thanks to the pledges of supporters on Kickstarter, where in one month the project received 244% funding from 230 backers!
I say this at a lot of lectures and when talking to young designers: It’s never been easier to get your cool stuff produced, especially with tools like Kickstarter; as long as you have a strong graphic execution to offer you can get it funded. And this is a great example. Well designed and nicely printed.
If you are interested in owning one of these posters in either of the two sizes available, you can do so here.
And if they run out you can at least rest assured that if there is a reprint, the printing will be as good as this round:
While we were on press at Recycled on their Komori press, the pressman was kind enough to show us the color densities for the job. They save their color density settings so that the same exact settings can be used if we need to run the job again. This ensures accurate color across runs. Pretty cool stuff. A picture of the sliders for this job is at the bottom of the images.
