Hav­ing opened in the Mia­mi, FL, Design Dis­trict in Novem­ber 2012, chef Dena Mari­no serves up mod­ern Ital­ian organ­ic food. It is rich, fresh, and delicious.

BRIEF

The restau­rant is mod­ern, high-end, and pol­ished, but at its heart is an enor­mous and very busy open kitchen. MC Kitchen is dri­ven by con­trast: Miami/Italian, refined/rustic, modern/kitchen. The iden­ti­ty sys­tem had to walk that same line.

APPROACH

The tool kit is sim­ple and straight­for­ward. The graph­ic lan­guage is entire­ly typo­graph­ic. And the col­or bal­ance walks the Miami/Italian line; it’s both warm and “hot.” Phase One deliv­er­ables includ­ed menu books and menus, take-away bags, coast­ers, cor­po­rate sta­tionery, web lay­out, and uni­forms. Ongo­ing work includes expan­sion to Mer­ca­to, an Ital­ian-inspired mar­ket­place bring­ing fresh­ly-made gourmet to-go items to the Design District.

OCD | The Original Champions of Design definitely met our goals and expectations! The design is superb; it fits our personality as well as the design of the restaurant and the cuisine. OCD considers all aspects of the strategy in all categories being created. The logo, stationery, menu books, signage, coasters, and even our to-go bags are incredible! We receive compliments daily.
