i just got back from that event. it was really fun and interesting to hang with luba and robbie and the aiga boston 'gang'. it was sort of a thrill to be on a "panel" discussion where i wasn't the extremist for a change. my past experiences with "panel" discussion usually results in me being singled out as a weirdo by another panelist, then the crowd jumps on the marginalizing bandwagon and i become a big target for ridicule. not a lot of fun in that. this time, everything was pleasant and heartfelt without attack mode going on. besides, with robbie around, it's hard to stop laughing long enough to get pissed off.
really fun. perhaps other chapters of the infamous aiga might try something similar and let the "other half" of design have a say once in a while.
