SPD@FIT › Art Paul

Speaker Series: An evening with Art Paul
Hosted by Steven Heller
Thursday, October 6, 2005

For well over two decades starting in the late 1950s, Hugh Hefner's Playboy was a wellspring of design innovation. From its stunning diecuts and inserts to it conceptual illustration to its centerfolds, the magazine pioneered its own style of smart layout and elegant typography. In a conversation with Steven Heller, Art Paul, founding art director and designer of its indelible logo, will look back at what made Playboy, well, Playboy.
