Introducing Opposites Attract

It is our pleasure to introduce Opposites Attract ’08, a four-part series programmed by UnderConsideration and hosted by the Art Directors Club in New York. Opposites Attract brings together designers with differing paths, distinct backgrounds, assorted abilities, and unique approaches that, ultimately, strive for the same goal: Simply, to produce great work.

To this end, we’ve assembled four events that pair two (in some cases, three) designers that, in one way or another, we consider having opposite yet similar paths. Through a moderated conversation we will explore how these designers have arrived at this current point of their careers, explore their processes and motivations, and, certainly, attempt to draw parallels and perpendiculars between our guests.

Aside from our obsession with setting up new blogs, we have started this one as a medium to introduce the work of our guests, enable conversation about the events, and any other blogginess related to Opposites Attract that we may think of. We will update as regularly as possible with bits and pieces regarding our speakers as we near their specific event.

We are very fortunate and grateful to have such a remarkable line-up of designers joining us from all over the U.S. and we hope that you can join us this year for the inaugural Opposites Attract.
