CLIENT

Hon­or is a high-end wom­en’s cloth­ing brand led by design­er Gio­van­na Ran­dall in New York, NY. With no detail left untouched, every aspect of the brand aims to deliv­er qual­i­ty and beau­ty. Hon­or trans­lates the 20th-cen­tu­ry her­itage of an old-world fash­ion ate­lier into a wear­able col­lec­tion that hon­ors both the past and present.

APPROACH

After art direct­ing Hon­or’s debut SS’11 Fash­ion Look­book and Cam­paign imagery shoots, we want­ed to cre­ate a piece that com­bined both shoots to show­case Hon­or’s col­lec­tion and show off the brand’s sig­na­ture style that we cre­at­ed: refined and ele­gant, bril­liant white with touch­es of gold.

Printing on Mohawk Navajo Brilliant White affects the photo color in a noticeable way. The paper makes all colors more yellow, which made it hard for us to ensure the colors matched the color proofs. The gilding of 26,000 cards also affected the time frame of the project considerably. At first, the printer had advised us that gilding the saddle-stitched booklets would be impossible to do after binding, but after a couple tries, they were able to accomplish it.
