Like the comfort of unrolling a newspaper at the end of a long day, but without all the pesky words, this unbound collection of Nathan Eldridge’s portraits feels like the perfect opportunity to unwind.

Nathan Eldridge has been shooting images with a simple backdrop and lighting setup for the past 8 years, and had a grant to turn his work into a book. We decided to leave the pages unbound to feel like a collection of portraits, and to allow people to frame single images if they like. I really like the ground we found somewhere between “Art Book” and “Municipal Record.”

We got great results from the indigo on Mohawk Options. Printing rich blacks really looks gorgeous. Also, there is a wide, wide, world of rubber band sizes. I worked with a company called Dykema Rubber Bands to try over 12 different sizes before we found the perfect fit.
