This is a nicely compacted, sturdy little announcement. The visual language is very simple and the “tabs”, done by staggering the width of the pages, give you a cue to take a gander at the important information on each page. Also, how brave of them for getting married in their skivvies!
This is the save the date for my upcoming wedding in June. [I also mailed a copy since I am only attaching one photo.] The wedding is taking place in a beach community in Long Island accessible only be ferry. My fiance and I came up with the idea for “We’re Taking the Plunge!” because there is a tradition of jumping off the dock when the ferry leaves. We wanted it to be fun and go with the beach theme and personal to all the people who know the tradition.
The community is a unique place to get married and therefore guests need to know a lot of details. I came up with the idea of a booklet with tabs so that guests would be sure to read every page.
The booklet consists of four pages that increase .25 inches in size and is scored and held together by metal grommets. Boxcar did a fabulous job letterpress printing, scoring and hole drilling the pages and I attached the grommets to finish the job. I printed the interior postcard and envelope myself on my Epson to save some money. I probably wouldn’t do that again because of the amount of time it took but I was happy with the result.
