Project Statement: Boston is one of the oldest cities of the United States. Home of the oldest baseball park, the first public high school, the first subway system in America and Paul Revere’s house. Within this historical city there are approximately 21 neighborhoods and over 620,000 people who call Boston their home. There’s the baseball loving veteran living in Kenmore Square, the motivated art student attending MassArt, the newlyweds that have just moved into their new Jamaica Plain home and the homeless man who always makes you smile when you walk by Faneuil Hall. We all share this wonderful city that is the hub of politics, education, sports and culture. This degree project will feature an identity that will be a reflection of Boston’s people, history and sense of hominess. It’s a branding project that will make Boston proud and can influence people to come visit, work or live here.
The Mark: The prominent visual component of the mark, is the replacement the Os with images. The identity represents Boston’s diversity and sense of hominess. Boston is home to many, who come from different backgrounds and neighborhoods. With the interlocking of the two Os, the mark represents the many faces of Boston and how people come together to form one community.
