Alright, I know this is too close to the last self-promotion post, but I promise this is the last bit of it… at least for the foreseeable future. We are happy to introduce Opposites Attract ’08, a four-part series programmed by UnderConsideration and hosted at the Art Directors Club in New York.

It sounds like you've all spent a little too much time on MySpace. Or something.

Well, to be encouraging, I love the logo. And more importantly, the lineup looks great. Glad to see you're getting Robynne out here again.

A TTRACT? (winky face)
(Oh, and Urban Dictionary sheds some light on the apparent in-joke... hope I haven't spoilt it)
Joe Szczepaniak’s comment is:
I think it's oss. It's a little predictable, but that really doesn't bother me. It's a design thing-it should say "design thing", which it does.
Oh, and Randolph, if you'll notice that blue and that orangey-red are this site's colors. Its just a way to carry the UC brand forward.

Hmm, it's ok, I can see it probably being outdated very quickly, not as osss as it could be but whatever, I think those circles could be better...are they trying to symbolise opposites attracting?

Can you please fix it so you can click the heading of your posts (or the picture, -or both) to read more?
On Apr.15.2008 at 03:57 AMSteve’s comment is:
That's a pretty wacky thread.
The logo doesn't really work for me because I don't consider a triangle the opposite of a circle. It's just got to be a square.

That OA08 site makes my eyes hurt..... I could not stay long enough to read any of it. ooffaaa. I hope I am not missing any great content that is usually in these pages.......

@Steve: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toilet#Gender_and_public_toilets
Good work (but I think that blue circles for '08 are a bit too much)

@Al:
Good find, so the logo may have relevance. But going with a circle and triangle to get away from the skirt stereotype for women doesn't mean they are opposites. I think men are more square then triangular.
You can't put a square peg in a round hole. Well maybe with a bit of lube....

I like the logo! But the kerning on "ATTRACT" needs a bit more work..
On Apr.16.2008 at 07:59 AMVon Glitschka’s comment is:
I think the base concept for these events is solid. I am too lazy to read all the eye-straining white on black type at the site (My only critique) but do the two people for each show debate at all or is it just presenting two contrasting creative processes at the same event?
The logo itself reminds of "Color Forms" for some reason?

> or is it just presenting two contrasting creative processes at the same event?
